
Dr. Kristin S. Braswell
–Dr. Kristin S. Braswell, originally from Clayton, North Carolina, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and two Master of Arts degrees in Counseling and Human Resources Development. She obtained a dual Doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education and Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in May 2016. Dr. Braswell worked at Fayetteville Technical Community College for 13 years in various positions. She relocated to Greenville in July 2014 to become the first African American female Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Pitt Community College (PCC). Dr. Braswell has been in this role for the past five years at PCC.
Dr. Braswell serves on numerous committees at PCC. She received the PCC’s Woman of Substance Award in 2017 and received a Staff of Excellence Award in 2018. In 2017, she was elected as North Carolina’s State Director for the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals. She also serves on various boards and committees in the community to date: the Board of Directors for the Community Crossroads Center, the Board of Directors for the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, Executive Leadership Committee Member for the Heart Ball, and the Intergenerational Community Center Advisory Committee Member plus served on a subcommittee for Dancing with the Stars. She continuously donates her time to participate in numerous charity events throughout the community. One of her favorite charities is the Children’s Miracle Network and she has participated in the fundraising event for the last four years.
Dr. Braswell is a true believer and testament of where hard work and higher education can take you. She believes that a person is never too old to learn. She goes above and beyond to assist anyone she encounters with achieving their goals and dreams. She is a proud member of Koinonia Christian Center and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
