Shareen Berkowitz

Sometime between starting her first business, co-leading the first Women’s Power Networking (WPN) Chapter in Greenville and becoming the Small Business Counselor at Pitt Community College’s Small Business Center (SBC), Shareen Berkowitz became known as the “connector”.  Her husband, Lowell, lovingly refers to himself as “Shareen’s husband” while her daughters tease that she “knows everyone”.

Early in her career, Shareen declared herself as a “professional networker,” because she learned quickly that a major key to success was to build strong, authentic relationships. In her role at the SBC, Shareen provides one-on-one counseling to prospective and existing entrepreneurs.

Currently, Shareen is pursuing her MBA at ECU while participating in the inaugural Leadership Academy at PCC. Her professional background includes several years of work in the corporate world, certification as a facilitator for NC REAL as well as a former Ambassador for both the Greenville-Pitt Chamber of Commerce and the Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau.  Shareen is also an alumni of the PCC Leadership Institute.  She graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Science for Organizational and Business Administration in 2016.  She also holds two Associate’s degrees, one in Arts and one in Business.

Shareen is originally from Worcester, Massachusetts.  She and her husband moved to North Carolina in 2003 to escape cold winters.  They have been married for 19 years (in November) and have two beautiful daughters.  Shareen loves to have fun, find humor in any situation and is very proud to be a theatre parent.
