Health Tips

“Peace begins with a smile.”
                           ~ Mother Teresa

I hope that you all are smiling on this lovely Sunday.  Make the best of today, despite any obstacles on your path, and let’s turn some visions into reality.

For those working towards a health goal (which we all should be), this is for you: “Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.” ~ Denis Waitley

Health doesn’t have to be difficult to uphold.

Physical/Fitness
Learn to find ways to work out throughout the day.  Exercise can be incorporated in everyday tasks.  Simple tasks, such as taking the stairs (as opposed to the elevator), yoga while brushing your teeth, squats while you wait for food to heat up in the microwave, or even parking a little distance from a store, can be done so that there will be no excuse for not having worked out.

Nutritional
If you’re able to completely change your diet overnight, hats off to you.  For the rest of us, it’s not that easy.  So why try?  Take small steps.  Be open and willing to try new recipes.  When you are grocery shopping, start off just swapping out one item you normally buy for a healthier option.  For example, if you love soda, start by purchasing a Ginger Ale or sparkling water instead.  Once you get into the habit of buying a healthier option, it becomes easier to purchase that option.

Social
If someone is on your mind today, just reach out to them: text or call.  You never know when someone may need to hear your voice and know that you care.  Life can sometimes get the best of us, causing us to lose sight on spending time or checking on those we love.  Make time!  It’ll be good for you and the other person.
