To See the Good

By Mieka Peebles

So, I get that sometimes we go through things that just feel beyond us.  Whether horrible or sad, it doesn’t always feel good.  But even in the worst of times, we must be willing to dig deep and find the good from it.  What can you learn from the situation?  What can be done differently next time, if faced with a similar situation?  Or could you have responded to it differently?  Trust me, I know that isn’t an easy task to do.  When I am faced with hard situations, “thinking of the positive” is the furthest thing from my mind.  But you can start with the smaller situations and practice with that.  A few may include being stuck in traffic, receiving not-so-good news from your doctor, losing things, or accidently dropping/breaking something.

If you feel as though you are unable to see the good in a situation, at least be willing to be at peace with whatever has happened.  You have the control over your actions, and most importantly your responses.  Not everything will go right in your life.  Some things are out of our control.  But we should be willing to not let it control our day or take away from the good day we were trying to have.

Philippians 4:7 KJV

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Love you and many smiles!
