Have Faith Today
By Mieka Peebles
“Sorrow looks back. Worry looks around. Faith looks up.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Our past is our past (good or bad). And although we may never really forget it, we don’t need, nor do we have, to dwell on it. It just holds us back. It gives us excuses to remain where we are. We’re allowed to continually be a victim. But that doesn’t have to be the case.
Sometimes, we look around at our circumstances and believe that what is will always be. Once again, we make excuses. We’re too stuck on the negative circumstance that we’re too blind to the present happiness that could be. We doubt, and we may even fear. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Faith allows us to believe; believe that a miracle is possible. We can trust that something better is coming our way, despite what we have experienced or may currently be experiencing. We can lift our heads up and know that our circumstances will turn around. We don’t have to be victims anymore of our circumstances. We don’t have to be held back by anything. We can strive to move forward in our life. No longer do we have to make excuses. We can choose to take the necessary steps to get where we want to go (or be). We can stop doubting and start believing.
Be filled today with faith, have hope, and smile.
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
